About the Wolverine FUnd
About the Wolverine Fund
The Wolverine Fund Scholarship was established by the families and alumni of the West Potomac boys basketball program who recognize the positive impact the program has on its participants and the community. The Fund will award college scholarships of $2,500 per year for up to two years to members of the West Potomac High School (WPHS) Boys Basketball Team. The scholarship recipients will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from West Potomac High School who:
1. Participate in the WPHS Boys Basketball Team for at least three of their four high school years including their senior year;
2. Register to attend a 2-year or 4-year accredited college or university or trade school for the
academic year immediately following their graduation from WPHS (either full-time or part-
time); and
3. Have been identified by the Fund in consultation with coaches and school officials as having
financial need with respect to paying for higher education.
The Wolverine Fund was created to buttress the incredibly positive contributions made to the
community and young people’s moral character and personal achievements by the Boys Basketball program at West Potomac High School.
